Personally I have a love/hate relationship with the Wii’s graphics already so having graphics on the level of a sixth generation console doesn’t help it any.

However on the Wii the Gamecube graphics are thankfully used.

Supposedly RE4 downgraded in graphics going from the Gamecube (which has the best for the game) to the PS2. Both the PC and Wii versions both contain the extra content found on the PS2 version minus a Japan only piece called “Amateur Mode”. Only a month later in June the fourth and final incarnation of the game arrived for the Wii. Then it was in 2006 that Ubisoft announced it would be publishing the North American PC version of the game that was then released in May 2007.

This content included a five-part mini-game following the character Ada Wong in her part of the game, costume sets for the characters Leon and Ashley, and a Movie Browser allowing players to go back and watch past in-game cutscenes just to name three of the seven pieces of extras. The PS2 version of the game included additional content not seen on the Gamecube release. Prior to 2005 Capcom still released two games exclusive to the PS2: Resident Evil: Dead Aim and Resident Evil: Outbreak (which surprised Capcom by doing really well). In 2004, Capcom cited “increasing profit, changing market conditions, and increased customer satisfaction” for the game’s release on the PS2. Unlike the Resident Evil remake (2002) and Resident Evil 0 (2002) which stayed exclusive, RE4 soon ported to the Playstation 2 later in 2005. Resident Evil 4 was Capcom’s third and final scheduled release in their “Gamecube exclusive” agreement forged with Nintendo back in 2001. Resident Evil 4 has taken four different forms since it’s initial release in 2005, the very first of which was a Nintendo Gamecube exclusive released in Q1 of that year.
